In 1992 Vangelis composed the music for the film "1492 - Conquest Of Paradise". Undeniable visually impressive on the big screen, but it was the music that had the biggest impact on me. I immediately scraped every little bit of pocket money together and bought the soundtrack, one of my first CDs ever. The album ran nonstop all day long for days. Later I discovered more and more of Vangelis' previous works.

The last 30 years his music has accompanied me and probably will continue to do so. With his passing this May I am grateful for all the lush musical soundscapes he created as a source of immersion and inspiration for generations to come.

Usually I am not so keen on drawing from photos as I prefer the real life challenge, but recently I enjoyed doing these ones, mostly related to artists I follow on Instagram. I tried to see it as an exercise and kept it between 10-30 minutes. For two (3 and 5) of them I used still images from video clips, what is a good way of choosing your own motive. Especially when it comes to caricature using video could help to better understand the subjects physiognomy. Normalerweise nutze ich keine Fotos als Vorlage für Zeichnungen, für mich liegt die Herausforderung in der echten Wirklichkeit, jüngst aber entstanden diese Bleistiftzeichnungen, die zum großen Teil mit Künstlern zu tun haben, denen ich auf Instagram folge. Als Übung gedacht, lag die Zeit zwischen 10-30 Minuten maximum. Für zwei Zeichnungen (3 und 5) nutze ich Bilder von Video-Clips, an der gewünschten Stelle gestoppt ist es eine hilfreiche Methode, um sich sein eigenes Motiv herauszusuchen.
