Here is a time-lapse clip I shot this summer in Marlborough, England. This time I tried to capture the busy traffic on the streets. I used grey filters to lower the light intensity and an exposure time of one second per picture to get blurred shapes of the moving cars.

"Grisu" - sculpture

From time to time I try to sculpt a comic or cartoon character I have fond memories of. Last week - after quite a while - I finally finished this sculpture. It is based on the fairly well known cartoon character "Grisu", at least well known if you spent a part of your childhood in the eighties. Immer mal wieder ver- suche ich eine Comic- oder Trickfilmfigur zu model-lieren, die bei mir einen bleibenden Eindruck hinter- lassen hat. Letzte Woche  habe ich nun endlich diese Figur fertig gestellt. Es handelt sich dabei um die be- kannte Figur "Grisu", aus der gleichnamigen italie- nische Trickfilmserie. Wenn man einen Teil seiner Kindheit in den Achtzigern verbracht hat, sollte man ihn kennen. Super Sculpey Firm Height 8cm

Here is my entry for the current contest on James Gurney´s Blog. The topic is graveyard. I always liked a certain sculpture on a cemtery in the middle of the city called Stadtgottesacker. Today I went there to paint this challenging motif. It took me around four hours. For the limited palette I used black, paris blue, raw sienna and white. Hier ist mein Beitrag für den jüngsten Wettbewerb auf James Gurney´s Blog. Das Thema ist Friedhof. Auf dem Stadtgottesacker gibt es eine bestimmte Skulptur, die mir schon immer gefallen hatte. After an exceptional strong flood in 2013 the interior of the planetarium was quite damaged. Abandoned since, word spread the building will be demolished because restoring would be too expensive. Some people where concerned about this. Me too. To at least have some picture documentation I photographed and filmed this unique looking building end of August, I even made a night sky time-lapse there (takes ages! 2 hours = 10 seconds of film). I captured the process of painting as well, to combine it later with the material I filmed days before. So here is the little film I managed to assemble from all the shot material. I enjoyed doing the music, my first music track this year. It was about time. Bei dem außergewöhnlich starkem Hochwasser 2013 war das Innere des Planetariums sehr in Mitleidenschaft geraten. Seitdem verlassen, hieß es später, das Gebäude müsse abgerissen werden, da es zu teuer wäre, es wieder in Stand zu setzten. Was etlichen Leuten missviel. Mir auch. Um wenigstens ein paar Bilddokumente zu haben, fotografierte und filmte ich dieses doch recht ungewöhnliche Gebäude Ende August. Sogar einen Zeitraffer vom Nachthimmel habe ich vor Ort aufgenommen (dauert ewig! 2 Stunden = 10 Sekunden Film). Auch der Malprozess wurde festgehalten, um später mit dem davor entstandenen Filmmaterial kombiniert zu werden. Hier nun ist der kleine Film, den ich aus dem ganzen Material zusammen geschnitten habe. Auch wieder eigene Musik aufzunehmen hat Spaß gemacht. Der erste Track dieses Jahr.
