End of May my
first year of music theory will be concluded with a final exam. Will
I get most tasks right? Usually under pressure I tend to make dopey
mistakes, but I have the most difficulties with recognising
intervals
by ear (second, third, fourth and fifth).
At the Konservatorium here in Halle we have a very patient teacher - most of us are way beyond the average pupils´ age - and apart from the exam I am looking forward to the next year´s lessons. It´s never to late to learn something new. |

| The
program I used
is called FreeCAD
and open source.
Being new to this software Youtube tutorials were necessary for
understanding the basic tools and to be able to reconstruct the
replacement part. Based on the original shape I tried to find a
way to improve the stability reinforcing the weak section (above). Even
though variation 1 was 3D printed as well, due to its thickness
variation 2 was the choice to go for and as you can see below, the part
fits
perfectly to the rest of the stand. I am glad that everthing worked out so well and as mentioned in an earlier post, I hope this technology becomes more easily available in the coming decade, so one doesn´t need to have special connections to get a 3D print done. |

| Recently
I had the opportunity to get a 3D print of a digital sculpture I made
quite a while ago. This technology is really facinating and no doubt
will be the future of producing all sorts of things for comercial as
well as individual purpose. |

Marlborough - 20.07.2016
Here is a time-lapse clip I shot this
summer in Marlborough, England. This time I tried to capture the busy traffic on the streets. I used
grey filters to lower the light intensity and an exposure time
of one second per picture to get blurred shapes of the moving cars.
